Between 17 and 19 May, ESCWA hosted the 7th MoU Universities Conference, organized for the first time by a regional commission in collaboration with the UNDGACM. The event brought together UN representatives and a group of partner universities that train language professionals for competitive examinations in their fields.
Under the banner of multilingualism, participants from distant regions, diverse cultures and different time zones took part in the various sessions and discussed the challenges, opportunities and changes related to language functions.
The conference was simultaneously translated into 6 languages by 20 student interpreters from across the world. It concluded with a set of recommendations on ways to take the collaborative journey of language professionals and partner universities to the next level.
