In the framework of the preparatory process of the LDC5, 5th UN Conference on LDCs (Doha, 2022), ESCWA held on 27 July a meeting with 3 of the Arab LDCs, Mauritania, Somalia, and Yemen.
ESCWA discussed with senior officials the priority areas of focus, based on the outcome of the regional meeting held on 18 February on development challenges and opportunities, the Istanbul Programme of Action, and the current support provided to LDCs by Arab States and the international and regional community.
The meeting also tackled the way forward and activities to be implemented in the phase leading to the LDC5.
