Food security policies and social justice

On 3 February, ESCWA held a webinar on "Food Security Policies and Social Justice: A Nexus Approach," as part of a series of webinars organized in cooperation with the Center on International Cooperation at New York University on integrating social justice principles into public policies and programmes.
 
Participants discussed the current situation of food security and its connection to promoting social justice, especially in view of the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
They also identified the challenges thwarting the implementation of food security policies and ways to confront them, considering the political and social characteristics and conditions of Arab countries.
