The twelfth session of the Committee on Women is a platform to discuss progress made on women’s issues by the ESCWA secretariat and member States. It also tackles the theme of “leaving no woman or girl behind”, through focus on most vulnerable women and girls, such as those with disabilities, migrants, older women, and rural women and girls, and on the socioeconomic situation of Palestinian women and girls.
Held a day before the High-level Meeting on the Regional Review of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 Years, the current session also addresses the main findings of the review process that the ESCWA secretariat and partners have led in the Arab region.
