ESCWA is participating in the workshop organized by the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) for the Libyan Competition and Antitrust Council, focusing on enhancing the capacity of the Council in competition policy and consumer protection.
ESCWA’s contribution to the workshop includes:
- The presentation of the Arab Business Legislative Frameworks Report methodology, which evaluates the state of competition and consumer protection regulations in the Arab region, and offers actionable insights to improve the effectiveness of legislative and regulatory frameworks in Libya.
- The introduction of the Arab Legislative Portal, a cutting-edge digital tool that provides policymakers and stakeholders with easy access to legal and regulatory data from Arab states.
The session features a Q&A discussion between ESCWA’s economic officers and members of the Libyan Competition Council on implementing best practices in competition and consumer protection.
