Committed to sustainable economic transformation, the United Nations Regional Commissions actively tackle biodiversity challenges through initiatives in areas including biodiversity mainstreaming, climate action, resource mobilization, data collection and analysis, governance, and inclusive participation.

The Regional Commissions are hosting a high-level side event during COP 16 of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The event provides a platform for interregional dialogue on scaling integrated and transboundary actions that contribute to a more sustainable future in harmony with nature. The aim is to protect biodiversity and implement the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework across all regions. The joint UN Regional Commission policy brief "Making Peace with Nature: Regional Actions to Mainstream and Invest in Biodiversity" is launched during the event.

High-level officials representing CBD Parties are participating, along with representatives from various stakeholder groups, including civil society, local governments, business and finance communities, and UN agencies.
