The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Labor Organization (ILO), in collaboration with the the members of the United Nations Issue-Based Coalition on Migration in the Arab Region, organized a webinar on the impact of COVID-19 on migrants and refugees in the Arab region.
The event was held on 17 December 2020 between 10 and 11 a.m. (Beirut time), and offered an opportunity to release the findings of a new paper that analyses the effects of COVID-19 on several issues related to migrants and refugees including their health, access to services, and income security among other important dimensions, and to present key policy recommendations to guide Arab countries in responding to these issues.
