ESCWA in cooperation with the League of Arab States (LAS), World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) convened the seventh session of the Arab Climate Outlook Forum (ArabCOF) and the fourth session of the GCC-Climate Outlook Forum.
Climate Experts and representatives from various Arab meteorological agencies discussed current and anticipated conditions for the seasonal weather forecasting this summer, as well as links to long term climate trends based on RICCAR predictions.
The sessions also highlighted the importance of tailoring meteorological services and products to sector needs, such as early warning and crop consumptive use in agriculture.
