UN Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader AlDafa today visited Syrian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Culture Walid Moallem and Riad Nasan Agha respectively and held talks with Head of State Planning Commission Amer Hosni Lotfi, in the Syrian capital Damascus.
During his visit, AlDafa laid out existing cooperation between ESCWA and Syria, notably in the provision of advisory and technical services and training sessions to build the capacities of government officials working in the fields of economic and social development.
Following up on AlDafa's official visit to Syria last year, it was decided that a group of experts will be sent to identify priorities and needs and agree on upcoming activities.
