As part of regional preparations to review progress in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action thirty years after its adoption (Beijing +30), ESCWA, the UN Women Regional Office for Arab States and the League of Arab States (LAS) held a virtual regional dialogue for experts on older women and organizations for women and girls with disabilities.
The dialogue, held on 6 August, aimed at exchanging experiences and best practices about the role of women-focused organizations of persons with disabilities in advancing the situation of these women and the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, in addition to discussing specific challenges faced by women and girls with disabilities and older women.
The dialogue concluded with an outcome document that will be presented at the high-level meeting on Beijing+30 next December.
