On 8 June, ESCWA, in collaboration with UNCTAD and WHO EMRO, organized a virtual meeting on “Consumer protection in terms of adequate health services, especially e-services during COVID-19.”
Participants discussed the role of consumer protection entities in the provision of health services including e-health, in addition to the role of the health policies and health systems in facing all the challenges in time of the pandemic.
The dialogue session was followed by a meeting to present the United Nations project on social protection that ESCWA is currently implementing with other United Nations Regional Commissions and UNCTAD on “Strengthening Social Protection for Pandemic Responses: Identifying the Vulnerable, Aiding Recovery and Building Resilience.”
