ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader AlDafa held talks on 18 April with UN Development Group (UNDG) Chair and UN Development Program (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark.
Both UN officials discussed bilateral issues, and those pertaining to the annual meeting of the regional UNDG team for the Arab States and the MENA region, in which they partook.
Held on 18-19 April in Bahrain, the meeting was convened under the title of Delivering Results that Count, and tackled UN Reform, Delivering as One, and Moving towards Strategic Development Assistance Frameworks (UNDAFs).
The key role of Regional UNDG Teams (formerly known as "Regional Directors Teams") is to provide leadership, strategic guidance and support to Resident Coordinators (RCs) and UN Country Teams (UNCTs) for the achievement of country level results.
