As the Arab region is grappling with various challenges including the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the repercussions of the war in Ukraine and climate change, Governments are under immense pressure to prioritize actions and resources to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In this context, ESCWA convened a high-level session as part of the AFSD, where Arab ministers discussed planning and financing for sustainable development amid crises and beyond.
The session aimed to galvanize commitment to strengthen coordination among ministries of finance and planning, and enhance fiscal space to achieve the SDGs and reduce inequality.
