Due to the important role of digital government services in increasing efficiency, promoting transparency, and fostering economic growth, ESCWA and the Ministry of Communication and Technology in Somalia (MoCT) organized on 3 August a virtual national capacity-building workshop titled “Digital Divide Policies”.
ESCWA presented the main concepts of digital divide as well as international and regional related indicators. Discussions tackled the experiences of selected countries in developing relevant action plans and roadmaps.
Representatives from public institutions, which are involved in the development and implementation of digital policies and projects, discussed the readiness of national entities to develop digital services.
