Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033: Edition 1.0

December 2024

Within the framework of the close partnership between the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the League of Arab States, the Arab Digital Agenda was prepared as a long-term framework aimed at developing and implementing the Arab Information and Communications Technology Strategy, in cooperation with United Nations organizations and specialized bodies at the regional and international levels. Arab countries are deploying great efforts to achieve progress towards localizing and leveraging digital technology to achieve Arab people's aspirations of equal opportunities, well-being, prosperity and stability, given the importance of digital technology in achieving sustainable development.

The Arab Digital Agenda includes several goals, targets and actions at the national and regional levels, in addition to a number of tracks that support the agenda, such as the monitoring and measurement track, which complements the digital development reports launched by ESCWA in the Arab region since 2018. The Arab Digital Agenda provides a sustainability framework that defines mechanisms for the implementation, evaluation, review and periodic updating of the agenda, and ways to unite the efforts of all stakeholders in this area. The ten-year agenda seeks to improve the performance of the entire Arab region to enable it to assume the position it deserves at the global level and to have an active and influential role in international decision-making forums related to digital technology.
