The International Centre for Advancement of Persons with Disabilities, in cooperation with ESCWA, is organizing a training programme to strengthen the institutional capacities of its26 regional branches. The Center supports the Ministry of Social Affairs in Tunisia in implementing its policies on supporting the rights of persons with disabilities
The training program focuses on developing the skills of the directors of model centers in Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID), using a gender approach. It seeks to find innovative solutions to integrate women and young women with disabilities socially and economically, and achieve their professional autonomy.
The programme is expected to result in three pilot action plans to be implemented in three pilot centres in northern, central and southern Tunisia, with the aim to implement CBID projects.
