As part the activities of the Multi-Stakeholder Platform for Protecting Biodiversity in the Arab Region, the Renewable Energy and Biodiversity Working Group, led by the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and comprising 12 member institutions, is convening its first in-person meeting.
The meeting is aimed at discussing proposed projects that focus on using renewable energy to protect biodiversity, enhance climate resilience, empower local communities, and mitigate its potential impacts on ecosystems through initiatives like solar-powered wastewater treatment, eco-friendly wind energy for bird conservation, and solar energy for women’s cooperatives.
