ESCWA, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy in Oman, is organizing a study visit to Muscat with the participation of a delegation from the Planning and International Cooperation Authority of the Syrian Arab Republic. The visit is aimed at examining the experience of Oman in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and preparing the voluntary national review, and at facilitating the exchange of knowledge between the two countries, with a focus on two key topics. The topics include sustainable development data, monitoring mechanisms and modern tools used, as well as the engagement of stakeholders, especially the private sector and civil society, in achieving sustainable development.
The visit programme consists of meetings at the Ministry of Economy, the National Centre for Statistics and Information, and the Association of Early Intervention. It also includes presentations and intense discussions among participants.
