ESCWA is conducting a training workshop, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Human Rights Department in Kuwait, on the implementation of Security Council resolution 1325 (2000) on women, peace and security: situation analysis and action plan, in the State of Kuwait.

Outcome document

ESCWA facilitated an introductory training workshop for representatives of the ministries of defense, interior, planning, media, foreign affairs, and the High Council for Family Affairs to introduce the Women's Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. The workshop was a response to a technical advisory support request that was initiated by the Department of Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is currently chairing the permanent committee on WPS. The workshop is one of a series of activities that ESCWA will embark on to support Kuwait in developing its first National Action Plan (NAP) on the implementation of the WPS and the UN Security Council Resolution 1325.
