To monitor developments regarding the status of women in the Arab region, the ESCWA Committee on Women held its 12th session on 8 December in Muscat, Oman.
Delegates from member States reviewed the progress achieved in women’s issues and addressed the theme “Leaving No Woman or Girl Behind,” focusing on the most vulnerable groups, such as women with disabilities, migrants, older women, and rural women, as well as the socioeconomic situation of Palestinian women and girls.
Held a day before the High-level Meeting on the Regional Review of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 Years, the session also addressed the main findings of the review process that the ESCWA Secretariat and partners had led in the region.
