On 17 and 18 December, ESCWA and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) organized the final workshop on “Enhancing understanding and expanding regional cooperation on groundwater management in the Arab region”, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries in Tunisia.
National teams from the Arab region shared best practices and lessons learned, including case studies on modelling impacts of climate change on groundwater and on the use of innovative technologies and groundwater analysis tools. ESCWA also provided an overview of developments on the Arab Groundwater Knowledge Platform.
Additionally, activities supported by the Government of Sweden under the “Climate Resilience through Regional Cooperation for Inclusive Sustainable Development” project were presented.
