On 19 December, the Ministry of Economy in Oman launched the interactive platform for the Governorate Competitiveness Index, designed with the support of ESCWA. It serves as a strategic tool for directing investments and determining development priorities.
The platform aims to support and accelerate decision-making processes, monitor the outcomes of the Governorates Development Programme, and provide a database and interactive materials on local development across all governorates.
The platform’s design features several advantages, including the ability to analyse local development realities based on the pillars and indicators defined in the Index. It also enables comparisons between different governorates and identifies gaps that need to be addressed.
