The Central Bureau of Statistics in The Sudan is going through a critical period due to the ongoing war, which has significantly impacted its statistical work. In this context, ESCWA organized a webinar on statistical work during wars and conflicts, on 26 September.
Representatives from statistical agencies in countries experiencing conflicts and crises participated in the seminar, where they shared their experiences on how to provide statistical data and overcome the challenges they face during such processes.
Discussions also focused on the role of digitization and the use of digital platforms in mitigating the direct effects of conflicts on statistical systems.
